The Connectsylvania Flag: The Pennsylvania-Connecticut Heritage Flag

For several years Pennsylvania and Connecticut bonked heads over ownership of northern Pennsylvania.  This lead to the Pennamite-Yankee Wars which flared from 1769 until 1784.  This issue was finally settled under President Washington in 1799.  Obviously, Pennsylvania won out and the settlers from Connecticut became Pennsylvanians.

The heritage flag that can be flown over anywhere in Pennsylvania that was almost a part of Connecticut has a violet background.  The violet colour is in honor of the purple grapes of Connecticut.  Also, instead of grapevines, there are mushrooms because Pennsylvania is the Mushroom Capital of the USA.  Finally, the motto is written in Swedish in honor of the Swedish settlers who were first permanent Old World settlers of Pennsylvania, who like the Nutmegers from Connecticut, lost out on their political title, yet were allowed to stay and fuse with Pennsylvania.
