Revolutionary Blue & White Stripes, with a Red Canton Flag at Red Bank, New Jersey

 

The rare blue and white striped flag was apparently flown in Southern, West New Jersey during the American Revolution.  

Fort Mifflin Stripes, Philadelphia Pennsylvania 1777

On the of greatest land naval battles took place in Delaware Bay when Fort Mifflin was bombarded by the British Navy.   

 

 The Mifflin Flag definitely had blue stripes in addition to the traditional white and red, but it looks off from how it is thought to be.

The BIG CORP INCORPORATED flag is a fictional flag created by the YouTuber BusinessCringe.  There is an arrow below the logo pointing towards the right.  These entertaining videos give a glimpse into the workings of corporate culture.

Satirical, funny, honest and at times absurd.  These are videos that would never be approved by HR or would a required employee training, but they should be.

Continental Brigatine Lexington's Flag - US flag with Blue Stripes

 The Continental Brig Lexington has a stripes of red, white, and blue.  It was captured by the British on September 19, 1777.  It's flag was recorded, and bears a striking resemblance to the Hawaiian flag.

- No mention of any flag in George Washington's "Writings" or Committee's Reports

- Uniforms to be brown with regiments distinguished by facings.

Record of the Red, White, and Blue Striped Flag vis the the Serapis

 The official recording of this US flag took place on October 4, 1779 under the leadership of John Paul Jones.  He recently lost his ship the USS Bonhomme Richard and its flag, but he won the battle by capturing the HMS Serapis making it an American ship.  In the Netherlands, he was able to order a new flag which was subsequently recorded by Dutch officials, making this an officially recognized flag representing the United States in fall of 1779.  Also note, the stars had eight points instead of five! 

 

 

Continental Frigate Alliance Flag

 One of the earliest and accurately recorded US flag is US flag found on the Alliance, which is reversed the red and white pattern of stripes such that there were 7 white stripes and 6 red stripes.  Likewise the canton had stars that were eight pointed, instead of the common 5 pointed stars. 

 

Here are paintings of paintings of the Alliance with US flag.  Amazing thing about the Alliance is that is was the last ship from that era of the Continental Navy, ordered to the sold out of federal possession on June 8, 1785, under US Gov version 1.0, via the Articles of Confederation.  Note this was 2 years before Washington was elected the first president in 1787 under the US Gov. 2.0 via the US Constitution.

Scramble Flag 1981

 

An overlooked video game classic from 1982 is Scramble, back in the age when video games were new.  No movies, no cartoon tie in, nope.  All we got was the game itself.  No toys to buy, just yet. 

 

In the lower right corner is the Scramble flag, a unique flag from that era, when flags were usually just red or other coloured pennants.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Back then points matter?  Sort of?  A game better than flappy bird, and separated the real gamers from the causal.  Did you ever make it to the end?

This DSW flag was stuck in my silicon hippocampus for years, finally got it out!  

 

Original Congress Logo

Yes, that is the logo of the First Continental Congress that was held in Philadelphia in the Fall of 1774. 

It is a pillar that is being held up by 12 arms/hands.  The hands coming out of the clouds represent the divine.  Note the Founding Fathers had a deep respect for the MAGNA CARTA, as this spirit was used to justify their 'seditious' activity and the eve of the soon to be American Revolution. On the top is the freedom, Smurf hat, that would made Pee Wee Herman, Louis C.K. or Jeffery Toobin very proud. 

It was take nearly two more years for hard decisions before freedom blasted it shimmering puddles of delight across the America, and then the World. There was  refractory period when a second coming of the Freedom that finally settled the issue in 1815, during the 'Second War for American Independence'. 

 They did make a banner way back in 1774, it looks like and it had a green field.

 A township that is home to biggest high school on Pennsylvania, with all seniors to Sophomores under one roof on one building 

Fukuoka-Ken Kurume-Chikusui High School - HEISEI 10 = 1998

 Notice the evolution of this Japanese school's flag from originally having the symbol for Agriculture and eventually becoming the common place High, personally I think the Chikusui Kanji is the best!  

This was soon after Meiji and students had access to guns!  

 School started with first logo in 1907 and Meiji 39, but has roots to to 1905.      

The Caucasian dude is Matt Sensei, a mix of Canadian and American!
