Luar Twilight - 21st Night

The Moon is New, Empty and yet to lit as if in Utero.  Soon the first Moon of 2023 will begin its dance around the Earth.  Until then there is a required darkness and waiting.  Until then, a deep quite sleep is required, for the new spouts of tomorrow's new Moon glow of 2023.  Oddly this is a rare Moon that syncs up with the Eastern Calendar, whence the year of Cat Begins from a Yin point of view, but most in the East recognize it as the Year of the Rabbit.

Upon the ending, a mystery of friends, pets, customer, bosses, stories, songs, await each coming year.  In that silent space they wait.

Lunar Twilight - 20th Night

The last night of Lunar Twilight is dedicated to 2022, yesteryear, it is the last light of 2022 to go out.  Only then will the days of 2023 sync up with each other upon the first sliver of New Lunar Light of 2023 to take the stage in less than 48 hours.

Here the King of Nat wears a skinny black tie, a classic for the ages.  The tie was originally a military device from Croatia.  But it has now become an international essential for the suit and iconic symbol for manhood.

Hoping that the previous year and years to come are as "Unforgettable" with the best of intentions and tone, as Mr. Cole put it.

Lunar Twilight - 19th Night: Stand By Me 1961

With two candles left for Lunar Twilight, the end is near for the last hurray of 2022 to give its goodbyes.  Two candles are a perfect metaphor for Ben E. King's classic Stand By Me.

In the video from 1961, the tie and matching handkerchief project a certain kind of vexillological energy.

Lunar Twilight - 18 Night: Extreme's More Than Words

Extreme sets the perfect tone to cherish things that once were from yesteryear.

Of vexillological note, on the official video the flag of Portugal makes an appearance as you can see it draped over the piano.

Here is another angle of the flag of Portual along with the arm badge on the military issue shirt of the drummer.

Lunar Twilight - 17 Night: I Don't Want to Live on the Moon 2009

Even Erine knows about the power of the Moon, for Lunar Twilight. Of vexillological interest in the capital letter 'E' on Ernie's bed to signify it is his.  Although not necessary, it is an obvious representation of Ernie's megolomania.

Lunar Twilight - 16 Night: Tracy Chapma's vexilloid like things in official video

Tracy Chapman's song Fast Car captures the themes of Lunar Twilight.  Remember Lunar Twilight is a time when yesteryear's Moon of 2022 returns to sneak back in at night during 2023, when the Sun is not looking.

In the video there is quick shot of laundry hanging from a line.  Note that hanging laundry is one of the oldest ways of sending secret signals.  But it very unlikely that that was case with this video with Tracy Chapman.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 15th Night: Moon River

Lunar twilight enters the final quarter of the Moon of 2022.  One of the earliest songs to capture the feelings of Lunar Twilight was in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Here our heroine sings Moon River.

Of vexillological note is the artwork on the wall.  It looks like it might be of some kind of heraldic device behind out bohemian writer, who just happen to overhead our singer.

Lunar Twilight 2002 - 14th Night: Crash and Burn

Lunar Twilight is also a time of hope and remembrance.  It is a time to look soulfully forward while simultaneously looking backward.  The song Crash and Burn by Savage Garden hit a high note with this theme.

Of vexillological note are the labels on the condiments that appear in the refrigerator while the young boy is being scolded.

Labels can have logos and are images that are protected by law, with misuse having dire consequences.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 13th Night: Lonely

Akon brings in another Lunar Twilight song that brings in the soft reflection of the Moon.  A time when self reflection and honesty overtake the soul and mind at the return passing of yesteryear, in this case of 2022, that sneaks back into 2023.
The classic arcade, of vexillological interest are the marquees of the videogames.  You can just barely make out some of the designs.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 12th Night: Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata 1801

Lunar Twilight is upon us.  It is when the spirit of the yesteryear's Moon sneaks into current year during the evening to give an extra long kiss goodbye.  Lunar Twilight and songs of the Moon abound, but they all seem to touch upon a somber and sweet melody of letting go to the sweetness that was yesteryear.

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is a timeless piece that pieces the essetial feels of this personal holiday of remembrance.

You can just barely make out the logo of the piano.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 11th Night: Crash Into Me: Dave Matthews

Here is another song that tunes into the essence of Lunar Twilight to some degree.

Fallen embers, glow, sad and soulful the passing of Yesteryear was, for the good bad and silly, 2022 was a strong year to remember.  The passing peace of joy is hard to catch, and harder still to appreciate.  Only after its sweet passing it there a realization that it was always there.

Crosses feature heavy in heraldry, and of relevant meaning Crash Into Me, Mr. Matthews can be seen wearing a ring on the his middle finger.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 10th Night: to the Moon: Jnr Choi

The Moon acts as catalyst on the human soul in a certain way, such that songs dedicated to the Moon are bound by a certain kind of musical gravity.  Jnr Choi, Sam Tompkins To the Moon again puts the right spin for this low-key holiday.

Several manufactured bottles appear in the video, the logos are certainly trademarked.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 9th Night: Elohim

A great meditative song for Lunar Twilight.

Note her video watermark matches the shape and color of the Moon indeed.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 8th Night: Sade, By Your Side

Sade takes the feel of this night, Lunar Twilight, which is when the fading glow of yesteryear, 2022, is permitted to cross over into 2023, whence the Sun sets and the Moon returns to the rule the sky.  During the first month of January, the last cycle of the Moon carries a remainder.

Of vexillological interest is a blue shirt that is hung out on the tree house.  It is a symbol of some sort or is it just plain laundry.  Several times over in history the hanging of certain laundry colors was used to send secret messages.

At the end of the video Sade returns to hand out a rose to anyone who is in need of support.  No matter the circumstance, Sade's higher self does not deny the grace and compassion to the downtrodden.

It is at low moments in life that certain angels like Sade appear and share the flowers of wisdom for the heart.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 7th Night: Moon by Mr. West

The Moon is a reflection that speaks to the past, a shadow of what was.  Here another Moon song by Mr. West of the K-multiverse taps the feel of this celestial sphere.   It is a sweet diddy from quite a wacky and rebellious 'Rapper on the Roof' of modern civilization.

Lunar Twilight is an extra opportunity to made peace with the past, let go, remember soulfully and cherish the past, as the last Moon of 2022 fades from our collective memory in first 'month' of January 2023.

Of vexillological interest is a white tag that can been seen on a black hoodie.  Clothing tags like flags are square like devices that convey information.  Likewise, coded symbols on clothing tags can be quite complex.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 6th Night: Moon Song, Phoebe Ridgers

Phoebe Bridgers, plays in the full moon night of Lunar Twilight 2022.  This is the night where fullness of 2022 comes back for en encore performance.  Not all Lunar Twilight's get a Full Moon evening.

The length of Lunar Twilight depends on the cycle of the Moon and New Years.  Only if a lunar cycle begins before 13 Days before New Years, will a Lunar Twilight celebration get a Full Moon.  Last Year, Lunar Twilight only lasted one night.  On the rare occasion that a New Moon falls on December 31st, then Lunar Twilight will last its maximum of 29 nights into January, but never unto February.

Bottom Line is you have an extra excuse to keep the Christmas Tree lights and decoration hung until the end of Lunar Twilight, which ends on January 21, 2023.

In one live performance, the essential badge of the band can be seen on the Bass Dram, which has become the defacto flag or vexilloid within the Music industry.  And note, military drums always had the colors and symbols of the nation as well.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 5th Night: Radio Head, Fake Plastic Trees

Radio Head hits the prefect chords that echo the themes of Lunar Twilight.  The song is a serene ghostly ember of reflection.  They find the beauty in sadness, that is partial to poetry of things in the past that leave a shadow on memory and dream alike.

The swaying cards from the official video that denote the aisles of the plastic market, relay information for the shoppers and the security.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 4th Night: Gungor, Moon Song

Last Moon of 2022 will continue to carry the light for 20 extra nights, and tonight is the 4th night of yesteryears fading ember.

Cherish the past, make amends for the better, and hoping for recovery is a grand thematic for Lunar Twilight.  Gungor takes the presence of the Moon and makes a perfect song that reflects its special magic.

Lunar Twilight 2022 - The 3rd Night: Super Mario Bros. 2 Ending

The third night of Lunar Twilight 2022 is upon us, whence during the first few nights of 2023, an echo of 2022 returns.  The magic of this holiday rests on the cycle of the Moon, whose current phase began last year.  The Moon acts as the fading ember of Yesteryear, allowing for clemency and an extra chance to say goodbye.   Another aspect of Lunar Twilight is to savor the past.

In this case, the ending theme music of the Super Mario 2 carries this theme.  Looking back at life, the past is made up of layers of memory from dreams that merge with the real world, such that both worlds become one in the rear view of the minds eye.

Life is in a way like its own kind of video game with its rules, obstacles, hazards, power ups, and friendly folks who are willing to help.  Where do all those elements and persons in a dream go when it ends?  Are they simple figments of ones imagination?  Do we suffer from schizophrenia when we dream?  Or are there other layers of reality beyond the waking world?  Where do all your old classmates go after graduation?  What about all the old bosses and co-workers from past jobs?  They all seem to disappear into the ether.  Yet looking back, the warm glow of nostalgia forevermore glows in a past that once was, once upon a time.  We have a collective memory of books, movies, music, and now video games.

The night cap of Mario is marked with the universal 'badge' of Mario, which is the letter M.  Like Laverne from Laverne and Shirley, Mario has a tendency to mark all his property with the beginning of his name, the letter M.

Super Mario Bros 2 was all just a dream where we help Mario defeat the Frog King to rescue the dream fairies.  The ending music is something like a lullaby.  As is life, lullabies are sung to us as children, that merge into memory, provide a layer of love that seeds certain gifts in the imagination.  Perhaps something of Forrest Gump in this tune, that has carried on in other forms.  Who knows how this game and song has manifested into new permutations of song and play?  And who can recount the times it influenced a dream?

Lunar Twilight 2022 - 2nd Night: Air Supply, All Out of Love

It is the second night of Lunar Twilight, which is a time when the nights of 2022 return unofficial.  Reason being the last Moon of 2022 carries the remainder of yesteryear's gift.  During the day its 2023, but at night 2022, is able to hang on.  During this time self-reflection is a key theme.

It is a solemn holiday, that is an extra bonus to say goodbye and make amends.  Life sometimes changes on dime, and at others it takes its sweet time to say farewell.

In the original Air Supply video something like the bands logo can be seen on the drum set.  Most Air Supply songs tap that feeling of lunar twilight to make amends, and go forth forward by making peace with the past.

Lunar Twilight - The Last Echo of 2022 in 2023

Happy New Year, but alas for January 2023 we have a 20 day transition period due to the phases of Moon.  The New Year is based upon one trip around the Sun, but the Moon has its own schedule.  In this case, the last Moon of 2022 till carry on in January until January 20, 2023.  Thus when the Sun sets for the first 20 days of January 2023, it reverts to the year 2022 in a spiritual sense.  Thus we have 20 extra days to make amends, clemency, and say good bye.  This is a time of soulful reflection.

The song Porcelain by Moby captures the reflective feels of this open holiday for all.

In contrast to other holiday's that have candle mast, all the candles are lit at the first night at sunset.  When the lowest candle goes out the rest are blown out until then next following day at sunset, as the Moon is allowed to rule the skies alone.  Eventually, as each night progresses, there will be fewer and fewer candles until one is left.  Also note, that candles are synchronized to the phases of the Moon, thus it reflects the luminosity of the Moon.  Upon the last night, all the candles will be out when there is a New Moon.

Of vexillological value, in one of the official videos to feature Moby's Porcelin, a barber's pole can be seen in the window.  This red, white, and blue striped device is a near universal symbol where one can walk in as one person and walk out and become something new.
