The Story of Avatar (2009) of James Cameroon and original inspiration for Star Wars (1977) and Iron Man (2008) stem from these two countries.

China & Vietnam are ancient nations.  Besides the Chinese & Vietnamese, they must balance their identities with a multitude who are not Chinese or Vietnamese.  They liberated themselves with the Imperial West during the Cold War, as did the West when fighting the Axis powers of WWII, by making a deal with the communist.

Rivals, friends, and frenemies, China and Vietnam are similar yet so very different.  Confronted with similar problems, they are siblings and neighbors forever.
