The New Yornecticut Flag - The Connecticut-New York Heritage Flag

New York is known for putting on the squeeze on New Jersey to give up its northern feather of territory, likewise Big New York put the squeeze on Connecticut to give up its western claims and all of Long Island.  I mean like come on, Connecticut lost all the isles on Long Island Sound.  Nutmegers even established some colonies on Long Island.  New York got a big slice of the mainland and all of the isles in Nutmegger Bay.  But New York took it all, I guess it is the Empire State after all.

So no matter, the New Yornecticut Flag is a heritage flag that can be flown over the parts of New York that were nearly a part of Connecticut.  Instead of three grape vines there are three red apples.  Also the background is green and Connecticut's motto is translated into Dutch.  It reads, "De Goddelijke Kract Transplaneert Onderseunt."  Which means that God transplants and sustains.

So when you eat an big apple in the area, be sure to sprinkle it with just tiny bit of Nutmeg.

The Connectohio Flag: Connecticut-Ohio Territory Heritage Flag

For a few years Connecticut had a tenuous hold on the north eastern region of Ohio.  People who moved and lived there were in some fashion Nutmegers instead of Buckeyes.  Like most of the original 13 colonies many wanted to extend their claim to the west.  Connecticut held on to a part of Ohio for most of George Washington's second term from 1796 until 1800.

Consequently we have the post historical, geographic flag that honors this short time in history where Ohio was a part of Connecticut.  The flag is a little different, but based upon the flag of Connecticut.  The field is red.  Instead of three grapevines there are three Buckeye leaves, each with a Buckeye.  Also the motto has changed to, "The Holy Winds of Grace Transplant Us."  This is a translation into English of Connecticut's motto.

So what this means is that People in Cleveland can root for the Huskies of Connecticut or rather Nutmegers can root for Cavs?  Maybe people in this area of Ohio can get a mid-way instate tuition rate, if they go to a public school in Connecticut, or vice verse for this region of Ohio?

The Connectsylvania Flag: The Pennsylvania-Connecticut Heritage Flag

For several years Pennsylvania and Connecticut bonked heads over ownership of northern Pennsylvania.  This lead to the Pennamite-Yankee Wars which flared from 1769 until 1784.  This issue was finally settled under President Washington in 1799.  Obviously, Pennsylvania won out and the settlers from Connecticut became Pennsylvanians.

The heritage flag that can be flown over anywhere in Pennsylvania that was almost a part of Connecticut has a violet background.  The violet colour is in honor of the purple grapes of Connecticut.  Also, instead of grapevines, there are mushrooms because Pennsylvania is the Mushroom Capital of the USA.  Finally, the motto is written in Swedish in honor of the Swedish settlers who were first permanent Old World settlers of Pennsylvania, who like the Nutmegers from Connecticut, lost out on their political title, yet were allowed to stay and fuse with Pennsylvania.

We Are the City - Letter head from The Crow 1994

Letterhead is like an badge or organizational sigil.  In the movie The Crow 1994, the letterhead is a hand with a skyscrapers as fingers.  This movie was artfully done with taste and patience.  Little details like unique letter head art were created and every screen shot in the movie is like a painting.

It was a tragedy that the hero of the story, Brandon Lee, died in the process of making this film. This has given this movie surreal charm and sadness.  It is a fact that people loose their lives at work everyday.  It is always important to never by hasty or rushed in important matters as the consequences can be tragic.

Crime Scene Ribbon - The Crow 1994

Crime scene ribbon is an iconic movie prop that one should never hope to see in real life.  The police line ribbon here is taken from the artfully epic 1994 film of sacred consequence The Crow.  The themes of the movie deal with death, sadness, and revenge.  The backdrop of Halloween set to a dreary urban landscape give echo the darkness that can sometimes overtake life.  However, it is done in such a matter that is beautiful, such that grace and beauty ease out of these oft considered ugly realms of modern society.

The spirit of the movie has taken on a life of its own, due to the tragic loss of life.  It is a fateful alignment fictional tragedy with real life tragedy, give this movie a gravitas of divine weight.  The final message of love and hope ring its truest light.  In the mundane roll of life, this movie is poetry reminding us that love can be found anywhere.

Inner City Police Logo - The Crow 1994

The 'Inner City' police logo is unique creation in the artful film that oozes the 1990s with its grungy and dark themes.  The city could be in any of the big cities like Philly, NYC, or Detroit.  But in this story the city is called Inner City.  You can see to logo on the doors of the police cruisers.  The seal has the outlined on the chief border.  Underneath the word POLICE is the abbreviation DEPT.

The police are always two steps behind the Crow.  This movie was a cinematic work of refined film.  It is basic story that captures the beauty in sadness and grief.  It has its own aura, and speaks deep to the unspoken side of humanity.

Hangman Joke - The Band's Logo from The Crow 1994

The band of the Eric Draven is called Hangman's Joke. The bands logo features of skeleton that is about to hang itself.  On leg is on a chair and the other has noose around the neck.  This grim imagery ironically mirrors the fate of the film.  The lead of the movie, Brandon Lee who was indeed Bruce Lee's son, was killed in the making of the movie.  An accident of happenstance, caused by haste and hurry was the primary culprit of this tragedy.
