Amino Acid Flag for Alanine: Ala or A

The Alanine flag uses the colours white, red, and black.  The field is black and has a single white dot that indicates the number of carbon atoms in the R-Group.  It is a fairly simple amino acid.  You could even call it the Methane of Amino Acids.  Along the hoist are two vertical stripes that are coded in colour metrics to the letter A, which is the one letter ID of Alanine.  Alanine's three letter abbreviation is Ala.

Alanine was first discovered in Germany, when California became a state in 1850, by Adoph Strecker.  Coincidentally the colours of Alanine match the flag of German Empire, which came into official existence the same year Adolph died in 1871.

An easy way to understand Amino Acids is think of them as Fairy Fibers.  There are 22 fundamental Fairy Fibers encoded by RNA.  When you assemble these Fibers in a certain order they create little magical Fairies inside living cells, that do work-magic.  So in this analogy, Fairies are Proteins.  And what makes up Proteins?  Amino Acids, whoops, I meant to say Fairy Fibers.  Basically the Proteins in your bodies are like little Fairies.

So what do these molecular fairies do?  They can smash chemical bonds, they can send signals, they rearrange chemical bonds, some help transport things, some wear more than one hat.  There are some molecular fairies that work in a team.  Bottom line is, there are nearly an infinite variety of fairies.  However, all fairies across the known universe are made up of 22 fundamental Fairy Fibers, scientifically known as Amino Acids.  Also note fairies don't work, it is known as play and dance in their view of the universe.  So right now there are about 12,234 quad-trillion billion fairy parties going on across all your cells.   Their electrical-alchemical dance is what makes life possible.

Census Designated Place Flag

Municipalities are the fundamental components of the nation.  In a way they are the cells of the United States of America.  Everyone knows that there are 50 states and few extra territories of the US.  Likewise most know that Counties are the next level down, cept' for Louisiana which has Parishes.  All the states have flags and nearly all Counties have flags.  Further down, many municipalities have flags too, but it gets really messy on what constitutes a municipality.  A municipality can be a city, town, borough, township, reservation, and many more.  And not all municipalities are equal.

Bottom line is that municipalities are you lowest form of government.  It would be a challenge to get a meeting with the governor of the state, but meeting up with you 'lowest' ranking political officer at the municipality is a relatively easy thing to do, unless you live in a big city...then you may have a chance, at meeting your 'ward leader' or 'neighborhood-block leader.'  Most people are often blissfully unaware of their local leaders at the municipal level, let alone the county and state levels. Schools always teach the federal system over and over.  Local social studies info is like top secret knowledge or classified.  Imagine County and Municipal Government Classes?  Or even just spending one month on it?  Note that most schools get much of their funding from the municipality.  Dosen't make sense that the Municipality have say in the learning process?

All municipalities are required to have a seal, and many have flags.  However, some people live in 'small towns' that have no political office.  They are known as unincorporated communities and are basically a fiefdom to another municipality.  Sometimes the town is larger and more famous than its official municipality, as is the case with King of Prussia in Pennsylvania.  King of Prussia has no official government for itself.  King of Prussia in Montgomery County is
a part of the municipality of Upper MerionUpper Merion also commands Gulph Mills, Swedesburg, Swedeland, and Wayne.  And going back to the cell analogy, King of Prussia and Gulph Mills are the would be organelles within the cell of Upper Merion municipality.

So how many cells make up Pennsylvania?  Right now there are 2,560 municipalities, thus Pennsylvania has 2,560 cells.  Note, that like cells, municipalities come, go, dissolve, or combine.  So with in the next 10
years, the number of cellular municipalities is likely to change.  And like cells, some municipalities are healthier than others, via crime, income, comfort, pollution, and education level.  Just for comparison, at the moment Texas is composed of 1,212 cellular municipalities.

But for places with names and no namesake official nucleus, we have the Census Designated Place flag.  The flag is a place holder flag for towns without independent municipal governments of their own namesake.  To clarify, a place like King of Prussia has a municipal government, but the name of municipality is Upper Merion and includes other places.   In a way King of Prussia is in the within the 'sub-county' 'area' of Upper Merion.  Perhaps in a few years King of Prussia will break away and separate from Upper Merion, taking all the local tax money earned?  Becoming it's own municipality.

The basic formula for a Census Designated Place has a field of 13 stripes, alternating blue and white; white stripes are dominant.  The abundance of blue indicates the spirit of a blueprint, since if an unincorporated community gains municipal independence the flag will certainly change.  In the canton is a seal with the upper portion reading 'US Census Designated Place.'  This indicates that the Federal Government recognizes this place as a virtual-potential municipality, a community with its own unique spirit.

There are several Census Designated Places that are larger than your average city.   To the left if the generic blueprint for these communities that have no mayor or government of their very own, yet have their own organic and independent local govenment distinct from the attached municipality of a different name.

The Fun American Manganese Flag

What do Manganese and Minnesota have in common?  Both use the letters 'M' and 'N' in their abbreviations.  Thus, a fun Manganese flag is possible.  So if you are from Minnesota there is no excuse that you should know this element.  Or if you were born in 1925, 2025 or on the 25th then you should know this element.

The Fun American Manganese flag is based upon the flag of Mn.  The switch up is that the name Manganese replaces Minnesota in the ring.  The inner ring is totally different, yet conserves the colours.  There are two atoms that echo of the native and newcomer. Finally the number 25 is at the 12:00 position.  25 is the atomic number that indicates the number of protons, which give this atom its particular personalities.

Another Fun Indium Flag

Just before Tin and two steps after Silver is the lesser element of Indium.  This is the second fun flag of Indium that is based upon the state Indiana instead of India.   Instead of a torch a Bunsen Burner is at the center.  Likewise it is no longer a starburst of 19 stars, rather it is an atomic burst of 19 atoms.  It is good to remember that star energy is based upon atoms being created and destroyed.  You can see the atomic number of Indium at the base which is 49.  And just to the left is the two letter abbreviation that matches with Indiana.  They both have an 'I' followed by an 'N.'  Of course Indiana's letters are both capitalized.

To the left is the official flag for the state of Indiana.  Notice the similarity and differences.  India, Indiana, Indian, Old World Indian, New World Indian...it gets very confusing.  Add in Indiana Jones and it is all good.

Norristown Borough Seal, Montgomery County Pennsylvania

The basic political building block of the United States is the municipality.  Unfortunately this area of social studies is rarely studied in classrooms across the US.  Most Americans are aware of the state, nation, and county.  But when it comes to sub-county division it gets really messy.  It does not help that some towns have to divisions like Doylestown Borough vs Doylestown Township, which have different local governments.  Also Doylestown Township has other non-incorporated cities within it.  All confusion aside, the smallest government in Pennsylvania is either a Township or a Borough.  But there are a few exceptions.

The County Seat of Montgomery County Pennsylvania in Norristown Borough.  At the County Seat you'll see the deep red Montgomery County Flag.  But at the Norristown Borough Hall you see a blue flag with a beehive upon it.  Not all municipalities fly a flag, but most simply put the seal on a background.  Which is good, since the quaintness keeps it low key.  A bold abstract like flag would be overkill.

On the flag of Norristown you can see grass, a wooden table, three bees, and the bee hive.  In latin you can see municipality motto, "Fervet Opus."  This can be directly translated as 'The Work Glows.'  According to one website, that motto comes from Virgil's Georgics IV.169, where he is describing the art of bee-keeping: Fervet opus, redolentque thymo fragrantia mella. "The work glows, and the honeys smell of fragrant Thyme." Interesting because Virgil is deliberately conflating the effort to gather the honey--opus--with the product of that work--the mella.(http://latindiscussion.com/forum/latin/school-mottoes.1403/)  Further out, you can see the a standard words in a circle "The Municipality of Norristown" on the upper arc and on the lower arc "Incorp. Mar. 31, 1812.  Note the beehive of Norristown is much older than the hive of Utah.  In 1812 Utah was still a part of Spain, yet to be independent of Mexico.

Here is a close of the two flags flying at Norristown Borough Hall.  Note that the beehive is black and white, but the words on the outer seal are blue.   One sub-county flag is flying by itself, while the other is flying next to the US and Pennsylvania state flag.

Ellesmere Island Flag

Ellesmere Island is an overlooked isle that sort of looks like Great Britain.  It was as if the cold climate made this isle shrink up next to Ireland to keep warm.  Basically its an upside down version of the UK in Europe.  Axel Heiberg Island is the Ireland of the arctic.

The flag of a would be Ellesmere Island is a special type of flag with altered UK colours and Canadian Leaf as the charge on the field.

Everything balances out! Take a look at the coloured map.  East Anglia is the red zone.  Wales is the yellow zone.  Even Isle of Mann has partner, that being Stor Island.  Isle of Wight is paired up with Isle of Ward.  Graham Island in Canada matches to the Outer Hebrides.  Even the Orkney Islands has a counterpart, Coburg Island.  Just remember Coburg Island is more southerly while the Isle of Ward is northerly.   Finally Axel Heiberg is the Ireland of
Canada.

There are places in the world called New Scotland, New Ireland, and New England.  But Canada's far north arctic isles of Axel Heiberg and Ellesmere take the cake as winners!  After all this part of the North American remained loyal to the crown.

Fun Argon Element 18 Flag - Ar

Argon and Arkansas have the same two letters in their abbreviations: 'A' & 'R.'  Subsequently a fun elemental flag to make learning the periodic table and knowledge about element 18 is united under this flag dedicated to AR and Ar.

The Ar flag has 16 atoms in the blue framing diamond.  The are two blue atoms in the white diamont area which represent the innermost shell of electrons.  Also, in the middle area is the number 18, then the word ARGON, then the year of discovery in 1894, and finally its two letter symbol, Ar.  Arkansas already has a cool flag, know this state has a cool elemental learning flag for AR and Ar.

Fun Flag for Element 42: Mo

Missouri and Molybdenum have the same initials: an 'M' and an 'O.'  Acordingly, it a fun Mo flag can be made in the honor of MO.  Element 41, also known as Mo, a metal that any girl named Molly should appreciate. The Molly B. Denum flag maintains the horizontal tribar of Missouri, but the seal is modified.  Instead of 24 stars in a circle, we have 24 atoms in a circle.  Likewise, large test tubes replace the supporter bears.  The knight's helmet is now an elermeyer flask with blue some kind of blue chemical in it.  The circular yellow belt has not been modified.  On the compartment ribbon the name 'MOLYBDENUM' can be seen.  Finally in the inner circle, the atomic number is in blue, the standard atomic weight is in red, and the official IUPAC symbol is on the white area.

Here is the official Missouri flag for comparison.  Missouri's flag says a lot.  Missouri is a kind of jack of all trades of America.  It has a crescent to represent the south, a the bears to represent the west, the helmet to represent the East and stars to represent the north.

Fun Pa, Protactinium Flag - Element 91

What do you get when you put tin into an active pro-league category of elements?  Protactinium!  What a mouthful.  Strange thing about this element is that it uses the same letters for its abbreviation as does Pennsylvania, 'P' and an 'A.'  The flag has the year 1913 in the lower green field of the shield since this element was discovered in 1913.  In the middle is a flag of Germany to honor one of its fathers Oswald Helmuth Göhring while the other father was from Poland, Kasimir Fajans, who gets an double honor on the lower red ribbon in the compartment.  Also on the lower ribbon is the name of the element—Proctactinium.  In the upper part of the shield is the atomic number 91 and the two letter symbol Pa.  Instead of the North American Bald Eagle in the crest position, a white atom has taken its place.

Fun Element 27 Cobalt Flag - Co

Both the state of Colorado and element 27 share the letters in their abbreviations: 'C' & 'O.'  Consequently, the fun Cobalt flag is necessary.  Co or CO can refer to Cobalt or Colorado respectively.  The Co flag is based upon the CO flag but the colours are different.  Co is famous for being blue, thus three shades of blue make up the Co flag.  The letter C within the flag is dark blue, the middle bar is cyan, and the upper and lower bars are medium blue.

Fun Flag for Praseodymium - Element 59, Pr

Did you know when you write to someone in Puerto Rico the abbreviation has the same letters as element 59, Parseodymium.  Yes, both use a letter 'P' and a letter 'R.'  Consequently this opens up the Puerto Rico to a fun elemental 59 flag for Praseodymium.   Try to say that three times really fast! The only difference between the Pr flag and PR is, instead of single star, we have a single atom.

Fun Flag for Lanthanum - Element 57: La La Land

Louisiana and Lanthanum have the same letters for an abbreviation, namely the letter 'L' and the letter 'A.' Consequently this opens up this element for a fun LA or La flag to represent this element.  In the banner of the flag you can see its abbreviation followed by the year of its discovery in 1839, then its name, and finally its atomic number.  All atoms with 57 behave alike, but a variation in neutrons changes its behavior just a little.

Replacing the pelicans are white atom drawings.  Also three red electrons on the mother-atom represent the three droplets of blood from the official Louisiana state flag.  You can see the Louisiana state flag for comparison.

Lanthanum is the leader for elements with two names: Lanthanide or Rare Earths but they are really not that rare.  Most scientists will tell you that in one gobble of parrot like memery. So in essence Lanthanides are oxymoronic, not really rare, rare earth elements are sometimes called Lanthanides or Rare Earth Elements, depending of the tide of the scientists bladder. But seriously folks, elements 57 unto 70 and sometimes 71 are a part of La La Land.

Fun Flag for Meitnerium - Element 109: Mt

Montana and Meitnerium have the same two letters in their abbreviation: an 'M' and a 'T'.  However with Montana's abbreviation both letters are capitalized, but for Meitnerium only the first letter is capitalized.  Nonetheless, this congruence of letters may make this element a little bit for fun to learn for Americans and Americans from Montana.

On the normal Montana flag the ribbon reads "Oro Y Plata."  But for the Fun Mt flag, the date 1982 is written in reference to Meitnerium's discovery.  Ten years later this element 109 was officially named Meitnerium.  In the central Spanish 'AND' spot is the two letter abbreviation, Mt.  On the left side of the ribbon is the atomic number of this element, which indicates the number of protons.

This is one of the few elements named after a female scientist: Dr. Meitner, Lise.  She was originally born in Austria 1878 and lived unto year 1868.  She was a part of that special generation to transcend the Civil War Era technologies unto the Space Age.   She also was the Atomic-Jedi Master to China.  Her Padawan leaner was Kan-Chang Wan it does not get any more Star Warzian like that that!  In fact her apprentice KC Wan was about to discover neutrons, but she was unwilling to risk the resources for young KC Wan's idea about neutrons.  Consequently, China just missing out on discovering the neutron!  Instead another Englishman nabbed that oh so precious honor — James Chadwick.  So no matter, Meitner was a tour de force in the early hay days of science was witness of technology transformation from cowboys to spacemen, or rather, from cowgirls to spacewomen.

Fun Flag for Nd - Element 60: Neodymium

The Fun Flag for Neodymium, element Nd, is based upon the flag for ND: North Dakota.  Instead of the North American Bald Eagle, there is an atom in the center with green electrons.  Also the bottom fancy banner has the name of the element instead of North Dakota.  The ribbon up top also has the date of discovery and the Nd abbreviation. The shield is also a little different.  In the chief area is the atomic number 60, which is the number of protons that gives this atom its particular properties.  In the lower field is the flag of Austria where this element was uncovered by Carl Auer von Welsbach.

Thus if you know the abbreviation for North Dakota, you now have a fun way of learning about element 60.  For comparison, the flag of North Dakota is to the left.  It is nearly a federal seal flag, since imagery indicates a strong symbolism for the federal government.

Fun Md Flag for Element 101 — Mendeleev Dmitri's Element

The fun Mendeleev Dmitri element flag is based upon the flag of Maryland since both element 101 and the 7th state have the same letters for their abbreviations.  The state has both letters capitalized, but the element has the second letter in lower case as in MD vs Md.  Nonetheless, this should make learning one of the coolest elements easier to learn.

Instead of the red and white crosses, there are red and white atom drawings.  Likewise the vertical bars have been replaced with radioactive symbols, which is the three leaved foil.

Fun Flag for Element 13, Aluminum or Al: an Honorary Echo for the Mystrerious Element of Alabamine

Element 13 coincidentally has an abbreviation that matches the state of Alabama.  Alabama is AL while Aluminum is Al; there is a slight difference since element has a lower case L while Alabama has an upper case L.

The cosmic coincidence is that, scratch that, the QUANTUM COINCIDENCE is that Aluminum's number is 13 and 13 atoms on the flag of Alabama echo of the flag of the South.  If you didn't know the Battle Flag of the Confederacy had 13 stars in a similar position.

Also the funny thing about the "Fun Aluminum AL flag" is that an atom on the periodic table of scientific elements was almost named after Alabama.  A scientist from Alabama, Fred Allison, thought he discovered the atom with the atomic number of 85.  He was wrong, but a few
periodic tables were made that included the symbol 'Ab' for Alabamine for element 85.  Perhaps he was right in a quantum-Mandela sort of way in another universe?  Thus the key to traveling into another dimension is to use laser crystals made up of Astatine or Alabamine, depending on your originating universe.  Thus in the the other universe, element 85 in indeed called Alabamine and Astatine is the false name for the this element.  There are other rumors that there is a third quantum-worm hole where element 85 is called Alabanium, and was discovered by a Albanian scientist.

You can see other 'maiden names' of elements that were changed by the high priests and priestess of IUPAC.  Element 41 was once called by Columbium and represented by Cb, now called Niobium or Nb.   Likewise element 43 was represented by Ma which was Masurium, now called Technetium or Tc.

Fun Calcium Flag - The Ca Republic of Calcium

California is just one of those places that is all over the Periodic Table of Elements.  Although element 20 has the same abbreviation as California—Ca—Ca does not represent California on the table.  Instead Cf is the symbol for element 98.  Nonetheless, the fun Calcium flag has the skeleton of the California Grizzly, since one the key atomic components of bone is calcium.

Finally the star has been replace with an atom with 18 elections.  Since Calcium is usually ionized to +2 oxidation state.  This makes sense.  Finally in the star position is the two letter symbol for California, oops, I mean Calcium.

University of Nottingham Logo

Fun Krypton Flag - Element 36 Flag

The fun Krypton flag is based upon the Superman logo.  Instead of an 'S' we have the two letter symbol for element 36, Kr.

Fun Samarium Flag - Element 62 Flag

Samara is based upon a name which just happens to be a place in Russia.  Consequently the fun Samarium flag is possible.  It is a slightly altered version of the flag for the City of Samara.  Instead of a deer, atom 62 and a its name is below.

Fun Silver Flag for Element 47 — Argent — aka Ag from Argentina

Element 47 is known as silver, but its symbol is Ag.  This based upon the Latin word for silver, which is where Argentina gets its name.  Thus the national flag is used for the fun flag for Silver, better known as Argent or Ag.

Instead the Sun of Splendor of Argentina's flag we have the Atom of Splendor.

Delaware River Flag and Tributary River Metric Flags

Delaware River Flag
Rivers are often linked to other rivers.  But the core river of any river system is the river that empties into the the ocean.  In this example, the Delaware River is used to model the different types of river flags.  The order of the colour in the diamond indicates how the tributary rivers are connected to the core-main river.  This order of colours follows the rainbow pattern.  If a river empties into the Delaware River then it gets an orange seal.  If a river empties into a secondary tributary river, then the seal is yellow.  This pattern follows the rainbow-metric order.  Every river that is connected to the Delaware River consequently has a Liberty Bell, as this is the key icon of the Delaware River.

To the left are several river flags that drain into the Delaware River.  They are all orange because orange is the second colour of the rainbow and they are second to their final destination of a body of salt water.  The stars on the left or right side indicate which bank of the Delaware River they reside, east bank or west bank.

The New Yornecticut Flag - The Connecticut-New York Heritage Flag

New York is known for putting on the squeeze on New Jersey to give up its northern feather of territory, likewise Big New York put the squeeze on Connecticut to give up its western claims and all of Long Island.  I mean like come on, Connecticut lost all the isles on Long Island Sound.  Nutmegers even established some colonies on Long Island.  New York got a big slice of the mainland and all of the isles in Nutmegger Bay.  But New York took it all, I guess it is the Empire State after all.

So no matter, the New Yornecticut Flag is a heritage flag that can be flown over the parts of New York that were nearly a part of Connecticut.  Instead of three grape vines there are three red apples.  Also the background is green and Connecticut's motto is translated into Dutch.  It reads, "De Goddelijke Kract Transplaneert Onderseunt."  Which means that God transplants and sustains.

So when you eat an big apple in the area, be sure to sprinkle it with just tiny bit of Nutmeg.
