Oregon Holiday Card 2015 the Back Side Beaver!

Almost forgot the other side of Oregon's Flag.  It to needed some North Polarization!  Here are a few of the most important of Santa's magic forest critters: Ben the Brave Beaver and the magical flying Chipmunks.  They don't deliver presents but Ben the Brave Beaver from Oregon can magically repair broken toys and friendships. Ben has a mean set of tools and vast collection of self help books. The twelve stars represent the 12 Days of Christmas.  Finally the flag reads "Merry Christmas!"

This post is a third in a series.  Due to color issues, flags were presented in two forms, kinda' like Christmas Lights.  Some persons like monochrome, others love colored, and many like both.  

North Polarized Flags for Oregon and Nebraska - Keeping True to the Official Original Colors

 Since Oregon and Nebraska have limited colours in their flags, liberties were taken with the Christmas themed flags.  However, here are their Holiday Flags that keep true to the original plain silver and gold palette of their respective official flags.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2016!

This year the Fraternal Flag Partners of Oregon and Nebraska were North Polarized.  Like all previously holiday hyped state flags of the USA, these scenes switched from day to night.  In this case a setting moon over the Pacific sets the winter scene with 33 stars, as Oregon was the last state of the Perfect Virgin Union, before the arrival of the Ugly Cousin of Civil War.  Snow is covering the treetops and the Conestoga Wagon with two oxen has been replaced by two reindeer and an X-Mas sleigh.  The ribbon now reads "Christmas" instead of "Union." Below the ribbon is a toy train, teddy bear, and wrapped present.  Instead of two ships, a blue wale jumping in the air in the moon light and amazingly an iceberg from the South Pole has ended up with nine penguin castaways.  The nine penguins represent the nine candles of Hanukkah.  In the far distance, a reindeer with a bright red nose can be seen practicing for a jump in the air.  Finally, the US bald eagle has been replaced with a partridge with a stem of holly in its talons. 




















Nebraska's Winter Christmas Theme is, of course, also at night.  A crescent moon is visible just under the Christmas Motto that reads "Providence, Perpetual, Peace."  The blacksmith is now an giant elf, who is making a toy.  Just to the left is a teddy bear and rocking horse.  His cabin is covered with snow and icicles.  The train is fully shown from engine to caboose.  The river is frozen, with two ice skaters instead of a ferry boat.  The trees have lost all of their leaves.  Finally there are 37 stars to represent Nebraska as the 37th state.

Oregon and Nebraska are fraternal twin states because their flags align with similar designs.  The most important thing is that these states represent the USA at the beginning and ending of Civil War.  Oregon was the last state to remember the perfect union before war, while Nebraska is the first state of the new era born afterwards.

OCP Flag from Robocop II - 1990

Robocop I vs. Robocop II 1990

 The Corporate Flag of OCP (Omni Consumer Products) appears in the sequel Robocop II 1990.  It is not an accident that the flag is reminiscent of the Nazi Flag, since it has red field with a white disc and company logo on the center.  Likewise some of the OCP security staff wears uniforms that echo the fascist designs - see video below.  In the final fight scene, the OCP flag appears twice on the left and right side of the US flag in an auditorium.

Although this movie was made in 1990, the union of mankind with cybernetic implants is well on its way and just around the corner. 



 

GMT or UTC +14:00 Time Zone Flag = Sextant the Star Compass Time Zone Flag

UTC +14:00 is a private time zone for the eastern isles of Kiribati.  A strange yet official time zone that is the first to start each new day, and each new year.  The symbol represents Sextants the Star Compass, which has planets cross its zone, as this constellation is just under Leo.

In order to have balance, here is the flag for UTC -14:00 which is the Cetus Time Zone.  Cetus like Sextans crosses the Zodiac yet is not a part of the Zodiac.  This unofficial time zone is the natural balance to UTC+14.  Likewise Cetus is just under the Pisces constellation.

GMT or UTC +13:00 Time Zone Flag = Ophiuchus Time Zone Flag

A flag for the UTC +13:00 Time Zone features the Ophiuchus symbol in the canton.  Currently this time zone houses three nations of three groups of islands: Tokealu of New Zealand; the Phoenix Islands of Kiribati, and Tonga of its own nation.

Here is the matching time zone flag for UTC -13:00, which is the Orion Time Zone.  UTC -13 The Hunter Time Zone is unofficial.  Yet both Orion and Ophiuchus cross the celestial zodiac yet are not official zodiac signs.  Note that Ophiuchus is directly in the path of all planets while, Orion only occasionally catches the star-planets of the Zodiac. 

GMT or UTC -12:00 Time Zone Flag = Pisces Time Zone Flag

A flag for the final official time zone for planet Earth.   UTC -12:00 hours is the only time zone to fall under one nation, and it is the USA that has command on the final hour of each day, and each year, each century, and each millennium.   Coincidentally George Washington, the first president of the USA, was a Pisces. 


Since Pisces is the 12th sign of the Western Zodiac it makes sense that it represents the 12th time zone of the Western Hemisphere.  By amazing coincidence, or providence, only two islands are in this time zone, reflective of the two fish of Pisces. 



The flag has a field of two colours magenta with a purple tint and black.  In the canton is an indigo Pisces symbol.  In the field are twelve stars reflective of the 12 official signs of the Zodiac and 12th hour offset of GMT.  The stars alternate colours yellow and white, with yellow at the midnight position. 

GMT or UTC +12:00 Time Zone Flag = Piggy Time Zone Flag

As the Pig is the 12 sign of the Eastern Zodiac, it only makes sense that it represents the 12th hour time zone of the Eastern Hemisphere.  It is the first natural 24 hour time zones.  It is also the earliest time zone for the United States with Wake Island and Russia's Eastern tip.  Other nations that fall under the Piggy Flag include France's Wallis and Futuna, Nauru, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, and Western Kiribati. 

Colloquial names for Piggy Time include: New Zealand Standard Time, Wake Island Time, and Kamchatka Time.

GMT or UTC -11:00 Time Zone Flag = Aquarius Time Zone Flag

Just as +11 UTC is us utilized by a far-point outsider end of America, coincidentally another part USA is under its temporal opposite at -11 UTC.  Of the United States: American Samoa, Midway, Jarvis Island, Palmyra Atoll, and Kingman Reef fall under Aquarian Time.  But the United States does not have a monopoly on Aquarian Time; New Zealand's Niue also uses Aquarius Time. 


The interesting aspect of this 11th hour division from GMT is that places that all places that fall under Aquarian Time are hold the line all year round without observing a spring forward, or fall back as is the case with Daylight Savings Time.

GMT or UTC +11:00 Time Zone Flag = Dog Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +11 includes the times for Eastern Australia, Tasmania, and Eastern Asia.  Also the outbound parts of the USA that fall under Doggie Time include Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. 

GMT or UTC -10:00 Time Zone Flag = Capricorn Time Zone Flag

As Capricorn is the 10th sign of the Western Zodiac, its icon is used to represent the 10th hour offset from the West of GMT.  Places that fall under Capricorn Time all year round include: Hawaii, the Cook Islands, and much of French Polynesia.  During the Fall and Winter the west end of Alaska sets its self to the Capricorn Time Zone.

The flag of Capricorn Time uses the colours black, white, yellow, and navy blue.  Their are ten stars to reflect the 10 hour offset from GMT.  The Capricorn symbol is navy blue on white, likewise the sinister divide denotes that it is behind GMT. 

Capricorn Time is also called Hawaiian-Aleutian Time or UTC -10:00. 

GMT or UTC +10:00 Time Zone Flag = Rooster Time Zone Flag

Rooster Time is +10:00 hours of GMT.  The flag uses the colours white, black, yellow, and navy blue.

GMT or UTC -09:00 Time Zone Flag = Sagittarius Time Zone Flag, Alaskan Time Zone Flag

The flag for Sagittarius Time, UTC -9:00, uses the colours pink, black, and white.  This flag is used by Alaska during the winter and its Aleutian Islands during the Spring.   But the United States does not have a monopoly on Sagittarius Time, rather the Gambier Islands in French Polynesia fall under this flag all year round since they do not observe daylight savings. 

The colloquial names for this time zone include: Standard Alaskan Time Zone, Aleutian Daylight Savings Time Zone, but the most appropriate is Gambier Time Zone since these islands follow this flag all year round.

GMT or UTC +09:00 Time Zone Flag = Monkey Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +9:00 uses the colours pink, white, and black.  The field has nine divisions to indicate that it is nine time zones different from GMT: two white stripes, four black stripes, one pink stripe and two pink fields.  Additionally the downward bend indicates it is East of the GMT, thus the 9th Eastern sign of the Zodiac is used, the Monkey.

Nations that fall under the Monkey Time Flag include Japan, Korea, Palau, Eastern Indonesia, and Russia's Takutsk Area.

Central Australia also uses the modified Monkey Time Flag to indicate has 30 minutes added to its time zone during regular-standard time.

GMT or UTC -08:00 Time Zone Flag = Scorpio Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC -8:00 hours uses the colours black, white, and yellow.  The symbol of Scorpio indicates and reflects eight since it is the 8th sign of the Western Zodiac.  Subsequently the 8th sign of the Eastern Zodiac is the sheep which uses the same colours.  However the divide is opposite from upper hoist to lower fly.  But for The Scorpio Time Flag the divide is from the lower hoist to the upper fly.   The eight yellow stars also indicate that the eight hour offset from GMT or UTC Zero/Zulu hour.


Places that are always on Scorpio Time include: The Pitcairin Islands of the UK,  Clipperton Island of France, and Clarion Island of Mexico.  Also Ducie Island of a dormant unresolved claim of the United States falls under Scorpio Time.


Much of the West Coast of North America also fall under Scorpio Time during the Winter which includes California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.  But during the Daylight Saving Time, Alaska switches to Scorpio Time: UTC -8:00. 

GMT or UTC +08:00 Time Zone Flag = Sheep Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +8:00hrs features the colours black, yellow, white, and red.  The Year of the Sheep symbol reflects that 8th sign of the Eastern Zodiac, as this is the 8th hour east of GMT in the Eastern Hemisphere.  Also note that this time zone can be called the Goat time, since there is some ambiguity across China and the East as to which animal is in the 8th slot of the Eastern Zodiac.  The same thing happens with the Western Zodiac under a similar sign of ambiguity - Capricorn.  Some see this sign as a magical goat-mermaid while others see it as simply a goat.

Nonetheless China is very pleased that the 8th hour east of UTC Zero Hour, just happens to fall upon their nation.  The biggest reason is that eight is considered a very lucky number in China, Buddhism, and other Eastern mystical practices, more so than the number seven as it is in the West.

Besides China western Mongolia falls under Sheep Time as does the region around Lake Baikal in Russia.
Nations that always are awake and asleep under Sheep Time include the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, and Singapore.  Also the central-western most portion of Indonesia utilizes Sheep Time.

 North Korea falls under Sheep Time of the 8th Eastern Hour, but it has thirty extra minutes, making it a +8:30 from UTC Zulu. 

GMT or UTC -07:00 Time Zone Flag = Libra Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC -7:00 uses the colours violet, white, and yellow.  Since Libra is the seventh sign of the Zodiac it is used here.

GMT or UTC +07:00 Time Zone Flag = Horse Time Zone Flag, South East Asian Time Zone Flag

GMT or UTC -06:00 Time Zone Flag = Virgo Time Zone Flag, Central Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC -6:00 hours uses the colours purple, indigo, black, and yellow.  The sign of Virgo is uses since it is the sixth sign of the Western Zodiac.  Additionally the six stars indicate a six hour differential from Zulu GMT 0:00 hour.

Nations that are always on Virgo Time include: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.  Oddly nearly all of Canada's Saskatchewan is under the wing of Virgo Time. 

During 'Standard-Non DST Time", the Central Time Zone of North America is on Virgo Time, but when clocks are sprung forward, Mountain Time Zone syncs with Virgo Time.

GMT or UTC +06:00 Time Zone Flag = Snake Time Zone Flag

GMT or UTC -05:00 Time Zone Flag : Leo Time Zone Flag

UTC -05:00 is the time zone of the Original 13 Colonies plus a few more.  Leo Time Zone is the Eastern Time Zone during regular non-daylight saving time.  Leo Time has the greatest populations of Americans North and South.  Ironically it this time Zone includes the Eastern Half of North America, and the Western half of South America. 

The flag of Leo Time uses the colours blue, yellow, and white.  Leo is chosen because it is the 5th sign of the Western Zodiac and 5th time zone in the Western Hemisphere.

Nations that are permanently set to Leo Time include: Jamaica, Panama, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador.  Additionally Easter Island of Chile,, the Cayman Islands of the UK, and Southampton of Island of Canada and Quintana Roo of Mexico are always set to Leo Time.

Fatefully the Lions of Detroit fall under Leo time when the Lions are playing their games a few weeks into the start of a new season.  But during Daylight Savings Time,  the Central Time Zone of the US and Canada joins the Leo Bandwagon, as does the majority of Mexico. 

GMT or UTC +05:00 Time Zone Flag = Dragon Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +5:00 uses the colours blue, white, and yellow.  The five partitions of blue and white represent the number five, reflective of the UTC 5:  two white stripes, one central blue stripe and two blue fields.  The downward bend indicates that is in a positive time adjustment relative to GMT Zulu Hour.  In the upper fly is the Western emblem for the Year of the Dragon.  Since the 5th time zone faster that GMT is ahead the Eastern Zodiac is in use. 

The Dragon is so appropriate geographically speaking because it divides Asia from Europe. 

Nations that fall under the Dragon Time include Russia's Yakaterinburg, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Maldives, and the French Isles of the Indian Ocean.   Also Australia's Heard and McDonald's Islands follow Dragon Time.  During the Summer, Azerbaijan can fly this flag on daylight savings time.

Note that India uses a modified version of the this flag with a crescent moon at the 30 minute position to indicate an addition of 30 minutes. 

Likewise Nepal also has its own version of the flag with a moon at the 45 minute position to indicate it is still under 5th time zone flag but with 45 extra minutes.

GMT or UTC -04:00 Time Zone Flag = Cancer Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC -4:00 uses the colours green, white, black, and yellow.  As Cancer is the 4th sign of the Zodiac its use here reflects a four hour shift from GMT.  Likewise, as this time zone is westward it uses the Western Zodiac. 

Nations and places that fall under Cancer Time include: Canada's Atlantic Isles except for Newfoundland, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, the Eastern Caribbean, Guyana, Western Brazil, and Bolivia. 

Note that during spring and summer the Eastern Half of the United Sates switches to Cancer Time, but in the fall reverts to Leo Time. 

Since Venezuela adds 30 minutes to UTC +4:00 it gets its own flag with a moon, to note the shift in time. 

GMT or UTC +04:00 Time Zone Flag = Rabbit Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +4:00 hours uses the colours green, black, white, and yellow.  This time zone is compressed, because for some strange reason UTC +3 and UTC+5 are favored over Rabbit Time.  Rabbit Time hops across Eurasia and a few isles in the Pacific.


Nations that fall under Rabbit Time all year round include Georgia, Armenia, Oman, The United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Maurituis, and France's Reunion Island.  During the winter, Azerbaijan hops back with her Caucus Cousins with Rabbit Time.

GMT or UTC -03:00 Time Zone Flag = Gemini Time Zone Flag

The flag for Gemini Time uses the colours yellow, blue, and black.  Since Gemini is the third sing of the Western Zodiac it is used here to represent the third time zone west of UTC Zulu-Zero Hour. 

Much of South America is permanently set to Gemini Time.  Nations that follow the Twins include: Suriname, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Also the North-Eastern portion of Brazil is tattoed to Gemini Time: Alagoas, Amapá, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Tocantins.  Finally distant part of France and the UK are permanently synced to Twin Time: France's French Guiana, and the UK's Falkland Islands

Colloquial names for Gemini Time Zone include: Atlantic Time Zone, West Greenland Time Zone,  and Pierre & Miquelon Standard Time. But in South America Paraguay falls under Gemini Time at this time. 

GMT or UTC +03:00 Time Zone Flag = Tiger Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC +3 uses the colours yellow, blue, and black.  The downward bend indicates that it is an Eastern early time zone.  The Western Symbol of the Tiger is is the upper fly.  Why the tiger? Because it is the 3rd sign of the Eastern Zodiac, and this time zone is 3hrs East of GMT. 

Other provincial names for Tiger Time include: East African Time, Moscow Time, Arabia Standard Time and loquaciously lackluster Further Eastern European Time, Eastern European Summer Time.

Nations that fall under Tiger Time include: Russia's main portion in Europe, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Tanzania, Madagascar, and the Comoros. 

During the spring and summer, nations that jump into Tiger Time include: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. 

Iran gets its own Tiger Time Zone Flag since it is UTC +3:30.  The upward facing moon indicates an addition of 30 minutes to Tiger Time. 

GMT or UTC -02:00 Time Zone Flag = Taurus Time Zone Flag

The flag for UTC -2:00 hours features the Eastern and Western symbols for Taurus and the Year of the Ox.   The Western Ox, Taurus, is black on a field of orange near the upper hoist, while the Eastern Ox is white on a field of black near the fly. 

There are two major astrologies observed Earth, one that originates from China and the other from Greece.  In this case the second sigh of both zodiacs by mere chance features a bull ox of sorts. 

Taurus Time is rare timezone between the Old World and the Americas. Two nations that are always on Taurus Time are Brazil and the UK.  Brazil's Atlantic isles of  Fernando de Noronha, Trindade and Martim Vaz follow the Taurus Clock.  For the UK, the South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are permanently synced to Taurus Time. 

However during Northern Hemisphere Day Light Saving Time, Taurus Time runs into the United States Thule Air Base, Western Greenland, and Frances last remnant of North American Colonies: Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.  Finally in the Southern Hemisphere, Taurus Time clips the south-eastern part of Brazil during the Summer: Distrito Federal, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo.

GMT or UTC +02:00 Time Zone Flag or The Ox Time Zone Flag

UTC +02:00 Time Zone flag uses the colours orange, black and white.   Year of the Ox time zone features the astrological symbols of the Ox from both the West and the East.  By amazing fate both the second sign of the Eastern and WesternZodics uses an Ox at these positions.  The Western Ox is known as Taurus and in this incarnations is orange on black near the hoist.  The Eastern Ox known is white upon a field of orange near the fly.

Since orange is the second colour of the rainbow orange denotes that this is the second hourt befrore the zero Zulu Hour of 0:00 UTC.. 

GMT or UTC -01:00 Time Zone Flag = Aries Time Zone

Aries Time covers the island nation of Cape Verde.  The colours of the flag are red, white, and black.  The single red star indicates that it one step off of UTC Zulu Time.  Aries was chosen for this time zone since it is the first sign of the Western Zodiac and this is the first time zone of the Western Hemisphere.  Thus Cape Verde is the first nation of the Western Hemisphere and only nation to exist detached in between the continents by longitude. 

GMT or UTC +01:00 Time Zone Flag = The Rat Time Zone Flag

The flag for the UTC +1 Time Zone uses the colours white, red, and black. It features a red star in the lower white fly region to represent an addition of one hour to Greenwich Mean Time.  In the upper fly is the first symbol of the Eastern Zodiac - the Rat.  Note that Year of the Rat symbol is the Westernized symbol for the Year of the Rat.  

This time zone has many names which lends many names to this flag: GMT +1 Time Zone Flag, West Africa Time Zone Flag, Western European Summer Time Flag, British Summer Time Flag, Irish Standard Time Zone Flag, Swatch Internet Time Zone Flag, Romance Standard Time, and finally the Central European Time Zone Flag.

Nations that fall under the Rat Time Zone all year round include most of Central Atlantic Africa: Angola, Western Greater Congo, Little Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Benin, and Tunisia.

During the Fall and Winter much of the EU falls under Rat Time: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Bosnia, Albania, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Spain, Gibraltar, Andorra, San Marino, the Vatican, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Montenegro, Malta, Macedonia, Czech, and of course France.  

But during the Spring and Summer, much of the UK, Portugal, and Ireland switch to the Rat Flag.  Likewise during the same time frame - yet on opposite seasons - Namibia fall under the Rat Flag at nearly the same time as the British Isles.    

Flag for GMT or UTC 0:00 Time Zone Flag

The time zone that passes though Greenwich, England is the key tuning time fork for our planet.  Nowadays it, UTC Time or Coordinated Universal Time, is the standard which artificial times zones have been aligned with.  

The flag for "Zero or ZULU" 0:00 UTC/GMT uses the colours black, white, green and yellow.  Green in the central stripe as Greenwich was the original coordinated time keeper of Earth before UTC.  Likewise the symbol for an Ox was chosen as both Eastern and Western cultures include oxen in their mythical zodiac. The Ox is the second sign of the Greek Zodiac while the Bull is the second sign of the Chinese Zodiac. 

This flag can be flown anywhere in UK, Portugal, and West Africa since these nations are all United in Time to Zero-UTC:GMT.
