Flag for the Element of Seaborgium

Flag for the Element of Dubnium

The fields in the flags are coded to numbers.  In this case the field of red, white, and blue reflect the Z number of Dubnium: 105.  The violet stripes indicate we are in the 7th period, since violet is the 7th colour of the spectrum.  Since Dubnium is in 5th group, the white and blue horizontal stripe reflect this association.  White is coded to zero and blue is coded to 5.

Dubna is a place in Russia, near Moscow where wonderful ground breaking nuclear research took place.

Flag for the Element of Rutherfordium

Rutherford is named after New Zealand's most famous nuclear physicist.   It is an extremely rare element.  Since it is in the D block the central disc has the colours of the D-flag, Delta.  The field is red, white, green, which is coded to 1,0,3, which is related to the Z number of Rutherfordium, 103.  The violet stripes on the fly and hoist reflect that its in the 7th period, since violet is the 7th colour of the rainbow.  The white and green horizontal lines indicate Rutherfordium belongs in the group 4, since green is 4th colour in the spectrum.
