Clearly, this depicts the Sun rising in the sky of Mars -- which in 1953 no-one knew or suspected was pink!
ReplyDeleteContemporary science fiction supposed that the sky of Mars was deep blue, purple or even black, but nobody guessed pink - nobody but Chuck Jones!
