GMT or UTC +12:00 Time Zone Flag = Piggy Time Zone Flag


As the Pig is the 12 sign of the Eastern Zodiac, it only makes sense that it represents the 12th hour time zone of the Eastern Hemisphere.  It is the first natural 24 hour time zones.  It is also the earliest time zone for the United States with Wake Island and Russia's Eastern tip.  Other nations that fall under the Piggy Flag include France's Wallis and Futuna, Nauru, Tuvalu, the Marshall Islands, and Western Kiribati. 

Colloquial names for Piggy Time include: New Zealand Standard Time, Wake Island Time, and Kamchatka Time.

GMT or UTC -11:00 Time Zone Flag = Aquarius Time Zone Flag





Just as +11 UTC is us utilized by a far-point outsider end of America, coincidentally another part USA is under its temporal opposite at -11 UTC.  Of the United States: American Samoa, Midway, Jarvis Island, Palmyra Atoll, and Kingman Reef fall under Aquarian Time.  But the United States does not have a monopoly on Aquarian Time; New Zealand's Niue also uses Aquarius Time. 


The interesting aspect of this 11th hour division from GMT is that places that all places that fall under Aquarian Time are hold the line all year round without observing a spring forward, or fall back as is the case with Daylight Savings Time.



GMT or UTC +11:00 Time Zone Flag = Dog Time Zone Flag



The flag for UTC +11 includes the times for Eastern Australia, Tasmania, and Eastern Asia.  Also the outbound parts of the USA that fall under Doggie Time include Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. 

GMT or UTC -10:00 Time Zone Flag = Capricorn Time Zone Flag


As Capricorn is the 10th sign of the Western Zodiac, its icon is used to represent the 10th hour offset from the West of GMT.  Places that fall under Capricorn Time all year round include: Hawaii, the Cook Islands, and much of French Polynesia.  During the Fall and Winter the west end of Alaska sets its self to the Capricorn Time Zone.

The flag of Capricorn Time uses the colours black, white, yellow, and navy blue.  Their are ten stars to reflect the 10 hour offset from GMT.  The Capricorn symbol is navy blue on white, likewise the sinister divide denotes that it is behind GMT. 

Capricorn Time is also called Hawaiian-Aleutian Time or UTC -10:00. 

GMT or UTC +10:00 Time Zone Flag = Rooster Time Zone Flag

Rooster Time is +10:00 hours of GMT.  The flag uses the colours white, black, yellow, and navy blue.


GMT or UTC -09:00 Time Zone Flag = Sagittarius Time Zone Flag, Alaskan Time Zone Flag


The flag for Sagittarius Time, UTC -9:00, uses the colours pink, black, and white.  This flag is used by Alaska during the winter and its Aleutian Islands during the Spring.   But the United States does not have a monopoly on Sagittarius Time, rather the Gambier Islands in French Polynesia fall under this flag all year round since they do not observe daylight savings. 

The colloquial names for this time zone include: Standard Alaskan Time Zone, Aleutian Daylight Savings Time Zone, but the most appropriate is Gambier Time Zone since these islands follow this flag all year round.

GMT or UTC +09:00 Time Zone Flag = Monkey Time Zone Flag


The flag for UTC +9:00 uses the colours pink, white, and black.  The field has nine divisions to indicate that it is nine time zones different from GMT: two white stripes, four black stripes, one pink stripe and two pink fields.  Additionally the downward bend indicates it is East of the GMT, thus the 9th Eastern sign of the Zodiac is used, the Monkey.

Nations that fall under the Monkey Time Flag include Japan, Korea, Palau, Eastern Indonesia, and Russia's Takutsk Area.

Central Australia also uses the modified Monkey Time Flag to indicate has 30 minutes added to its time zone during regular-standard time.
