Jarvis, Baker, & Howland Island Flags a Flying
Baker, Jarvis, and Howland Islands have richly colourful flags. Far off in the South Pacific, these isles are home to no one, currently. But there were attempts at colonization in the early 1900s, and they were attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy during WWII.
Unlike the other 50 States of America, Baker and Howland Islands were uninhabited and discovered by Americans. In the same year the US flag became codified by law into its modern design, 1818, Baker Island was discovered by Captain Elisha Folger from Nantucket. Note that Folger is the Maiden-Mitochondrial name of Benjamin Franklin.
In 1822 Captain George B. Worth, also from Nantucket, sighted Baker Island, and was smart enough to document the event. Most likely there were other mariners, European and South Pacific Islanders, who sighted and may have even landed on these islands but they never recorded the event, or it was lost in the watery wake of time.
Jarvis Island was not discovered by an American, but rather by the British. On August 21, 1821 the HMS Eliza Frances sighted the lonely island. In 1858 Minnesota's temporal twin down under was formally annexed on February 17, 1858. Remember that Minnesota was made a state on May 11, 1858. Thus it is fitting that Minnesota does indeed have a slightly older twin of sorts. Likewise Minnesota has a small slice of her territory above the United 48, in accord Jarvis is a small part of America just below the equator.
Jarvis Island is closest to the continent of North America, yet is south of the Equator. But Howland and Baker Islands are closest to the continent of Australia, yet are north of the Equator. Consequently Jarvis Island is the part of America Down Under, while Howland and Baker Island are a part of Australia, yet are up and over.
These precious new lands were legally made a part of the USA just before the start of the US Civil War with the 1856 US Guano Act.

Star Wars Invisibility Talisman Logo - 1978
During Star Wars Episode 4.5 - The Star Wars Holiday Special 1978, Lumpy watches a secret Rebel Alliance report about the alien talisman that makes people invisible. The device has basic galactic writing upon it, but a logo can be noticed, that looks like an Omega Symbol.
Awning for the "DRIXNI" is a vexilloid like object that serves to advertise that it can be purchased at this store. To the left is a strange alien icon that looks like some kind of company logo, or perhaps bug?
Several broadsides, posters, can be seen in the back alleys. The anti-hero Boba Fett can be seen walking by. There is also come "Alien Graffiti" visible.
The alien technician with a ridged skull and cat like mouth is wearing an armband that indicates his position in the Rebel Alliance. In the background we can see Leia, Luke, R2, C-3PO and one of the rebel alliance leaders.
Star Wars Life Day Icon - 1978
| Chewy and Lumpy, Celebrating Life Day - Notice Orb with Model Trees of Life |
Merry Christmas and Happy Life Day! Humans became aware of Life Day on November 17, 1978, during a broadcast on CBS, The Star Wars Holiday Special: Episode 4&1/2. This celebration that can be celebrated by any life form in the cosmos originated with the Wookiee Species on the planet Kashyyyk. The key icon for Life Day celebrators is a small clear glowing orb. The outside the orb has jewels and lights, while a small conifer-like tree is in the center.
The heroes of Star Wars interact at the grand tree of life with Chewbacca. Chewbacca is wearing the traditional garb of the Life Day faithful, a red cloak. Life Day is not a restrictive holiday, any being is allowed to come so long as they have a Wookiee invite. Celebratory events include singing and hugging.
Wookies celebrating Life Day gather at the Tree of Life. It is not revealed, but the Life Day orbs could be magical talismans that open a cosmic worm hole to a nexus point in space, where the Tree of Life subsists on its own. Another theory is that the orbs act as a virtual reality key that opens a very large virtual chat room were the Life Day faithful gather for peace and love. We may never know, it's a Wookiee Secret!

Logo for UNITE FOR AMERICA
In a last ditch effort to block Donald Trump from the presodency, an organized left wing resistance has arisen, Unite for America. This is no doubt a vain and futile effort, which will only reap more negativity.
Their logo is supposed to be a red shilloute of an eagle, but looks like a crying Pac-Man of sorts or Donald Trump's hair?

Dr. Whitney Smith
Last Month on November 17, 2016 an American legend in the same
league of Betsy Ross passed away, Whitney Smith. Unlike Betsy
Ross whose association with the American flag is
unresolved, Whitney Smith was an official creator for a national flag in
the Americas. Betsy Ross's claim that she proposed to General Washington that the stars should have five points,
rather than eight, is in dispute. However, it is a fact that Dr. Whitney Smith was a
part of the committee that designed the flag for Guyana.
Whitney Smith was born February 26, 1940 and died last month November 17, 2016. Dr. Smith coined a new word and is the founder of a new discipline intently focused on flags and representative icons: vexillology. His passion for flags allowed him to become an international star. So much so, that Whitney's insights were recruited for the design of a nation. He will be sorely missed by the vexillological community. An ember of his passion for flags is currently being echoed on The Big Bang Theory television show, during the Fun with Flags vexillology segment. On a more prestigious note, for the hallowed and perpetual hall of history, Whitney Smith was given an opportunity to shape one of the patriotic contours of a nation in the Americas, the flag for Guyana.
In further gratitude from Dr. Whitney Smith, we have the
word
"vexillology." Smith coined this unique American word from its Latin word for flag, vexillum. Vexillology recently became popularized due to a segment
on CBS's The Big Bang Theory Show, currently the highest rated
sitcom on broadcast television. In a recurring segment, one of the
quirky characters, the fictional Dr. Sheldon Cooper played by Jim
Parsons, produces a video blog-cast on the subject of vexillology with a
program called Fun with Flags with Dr. Sheldon Cooper. Oddly a show
within a show, like the theoretical moon of a moon, Fun with Flags is a skit
filled with standard jokes and silly flag giggles.
It was in 2011 that CBS inserted the word vexillology into American pop-culture. But vexillology is more than just the study of flags. Vexillology includes a wide range of topics: including heraldry, badges, medals, totem poles, marks of rank, and preliterate staffs of power. Essentially anything that is a representative icon, whether from ancient Egypt to the modern day logo falls under the umbrella of vexillology. In many ways vexillology is the real life equivalent to the word, symbology; the fictional subject popularized in Dan Brown's grand conspiracy-educational tourist novels. Without a doubt the most alluring aspects of vexillology are modern flags. The majority of papers and persons in this field focus on this area.

South Carolina Flag - North Polarized
Here the South Carolina flag has been North Polarized with the Spirit of Christmas. A string of orange lights hugs the trunk while green lights reflect the greenish palm of the canopy. The winner uses the natural colours, but here are several others.
Classy plain white, so holiday simplicity.
Red and green lights for Santa Clause lovers.
Blue and white for Hanukkah participants.
Multi-colours for joy of it all.

Marine Life Institute Flag - Finding Dory 2016
Computer generated images are verging on an ability to mimic reality. In Disney's Finding Dory 2016, the flag of the Marine Life Institute can be seen during a sunset. It is your standard seal on a blue bed sheet, or SOB flag as professional vexillologists would call it. In the seal is a kelp bed.
The logo of the Marine Life Institute can be seen in the background on the truck. Here the Nemo and his dad are frantically looking for Dory.

Officer and a Gentleman - US Flag 1982
Officer and a Gentleman 1982 successfully combined the romantic-military gung-ho patriotic movie. The balance between career, job, love, and ego is a delicate balance. The chase between a man and woman is an ancient game, a universal game that all living creatures must play. The chase is usually overplayed with the ego card: WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME!? But sometimes the better part of a person's soul can trump the ego and put things right.
Several flags naturally appear in this movie. Quite frankly, it would be an impossible to make a military movie with out flags. During one of the classic 1980s training montages, a group of flight officer candidates can be seen running by the group. This group is more advanced and carries a yellow flag.
Lewis Gossett, Jr. stars as the hard nosed no nonsense drill instructor, getting these recruits in shape for their prestigious military jobs. Here, he stands on stage ready for martial arts training. Instead of the bad guy being some alien nation, the antagonist is also the protagonist.

The protagonist of the movie stands at attention in front of the US flag which is in front of the US Navy flag. This is your classic punch the sky 1980s movie, abundant with grade A acting all around, form the main stars and every person in a supporting role. Officer and a Gentleman is a rich work of art for mature minds only. Quotable, memorable, and honest.

Green Day US Flag from American Idiot - 2004
Back in 2004 Green Day released American Idiot. Before Obama, before Trump, Green Day rocked it loud and clear with this anti-establishment song. In the background is a classic 48 starred American flag.
The lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong can be seen here in front of the greenish Green Day US flag from their classic video. In the video Green Day points out the mass media is agenda driven and out of control.
The stripes of the green Green Day flag are being washed away as the band plays on. Green Day is the last of the great pre-millennial bands to make their mark on the system. They advocated a change and put something smart and original on the nearly fully colonized space of rock music.

Piggy Pennants and Vexilloids - Angry Birds 2016
Angry Birds Cross Walk Flag - 2016 Movie
Angry Birds 2016 is perhaps the first authentically well adapted movie video-game to movie in the history of cinema. Usually video-game movies are horrid and the executives involved have no bearing to the game play, an follow it in name only, marketed to general audiences. As has been the case with Super Mario Brothers; perhaps in 20 years in the year 2036 we will get a good Attack of the Snapple Snapchat 2036?
Of vexillological consequence is the crosswalk flag. It has an orange field with two horizontal yellow stripes. It was obviously hand stitched as you can see when our hero sticks his tongue out at a passerby.

Island of Stability Flag Ship Cartoon
The island of stability was made popular by one of America's finest scientists, Glenn Seaborg, who got an element named after himself: Seaborgium, element 106. Glenn was also a crew member on the USS Scientific D. Rsc. team that discovered 10 new atoms on the periodic table.
The cartoon above that shows the Ion Ships attempting to land on the "Island of Stability" are shown. The mast flags give away the elements that are shown. A Calcium-Ca Ion ship is closest to reaching the predicted island, likewise a Zinc-Zn ship is in second place.

Car Door Greek Flag from My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2002
In 2002 My Big Fat Greek Wedding made a comforting splash in America. As with any ethnic group in the USA, many Greeks love to display their flag. The design is fatefully similar to the US flag, having a canton on a field of stripes. But the field of stripes are blue and white. In the canton is a white cross. You can also see the US flag hanging properly near the front porch.
The heroine, Nia Vardalos, of the movie comes out of her shell and exposes some of the insecurities of growing up Greek in America. America has base root love affair with Greece via the study of classics and college social societies. And every classroom in America dedicates it's classroom time to the Ancient Greeks. The Ancient Irish, English, Scottish, Germans, French, Sub-Sahran Africans, and Native American civilizations hardly get a fraction of classroom time as compared to the Greeks. Nonetheless Greek civilization is way cool, and remember to eat more Gyros.
Note Gyros are properly pronounced with a hard G as in Greek! "Ghee-Row" not "Jai-Row!" Although "Jai-Row" rolls off the tongue easier. Most Greeks don't seem to care, it's the non-Greek armchair experts who make an issue of Gyros, who probably don't even know the Greek, or Jreek, Alphabet.
Greece is at the cultural nexus of the Old Word mixed up with elements of Asian, African, and European culture. Interestingly Greece has a small part of her national territory East of Asia and South of Africa. Thus Greece is only European Nation that can see all sides of the Old World Rubric. Greece can look Westward at the East, Eastward to Europe, South at Africa, and North to Africa.
Like many Asian nations, the Greeks have their own private alphabet. For example the hallmark of an Asian family group is to maintain a unique alphabet: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Khmer, Sanskrit, Bengali, Nepalese, Mongolian, Arabic, Armenian, Georgian, Burmese, and Hebrew. European nations have borrowed the Latin Alphabet or Cyrillic Alphabet. There is no original English, German, Spanish, French, Romanian, or Scottish alphabet. Imagine going to colleges in America and finding fraterneties and sororities with three letter Hangul, Katakana, Arabic, Hebrew, or Sanskrit letters?

Thin Blue Line Fallen Officer Flag & More
The most popular flag for fallen officers is the Thin Blue Line flag. The stripe that underscores the canton is colored blue in honor of police officers.
The Thin Red Line flag honors fallen firemen who died in the line of duty.
The Thin Green flag honors fallen military persons who died protecting our freedoms here and abroad.
The Thin Orange Line flag is for fallen personnel in the rescue, life guarding, and coast guard duties who have fallen in the line of duty.
The Thin Yellow Line flag is for fallen road, construction crew, and persons who gave their lives in service to transportation services in the line of duty, which includes school bus drivers.
The Thin Violet Line flag is a memorial flag for persons who died or suffered great injury while in political office from the local to federal levels, due to political violence.

Flag for Earth's Second Moon - 2016 HO3
2016 HO3, or rather Ho Ho Ho 2016, is a new moon. Not a new-black, nor a new-empty, nor a new-non reflective moon; but rather a newly discovered moon! A natural object placed in the heavens that is in orbit around Earth. We humans became aware of this moon during the year of the Monkey and month of Taurus. We could call it Monkey-Bull or just Monkey-Boo HO Cubed, or Mo-Bo Ho Ho Ho. Note that it is the letter 'oh' and not a zero. I know, so confusing that o,0,O can so easily get mixed up, especially when you write em'.
Note this moon will be in orbit around our humble abode for the next few centuries. Interestingly, there is no lower size limit on moons. A rock the size of your hand, could be a moon. Perhaps the moon of an asteroid? Yet there are size limits on planets. Thus you'll never hear astronomers speak of a Dwarf Moon, or failed moon. Sorry only planets and stars can fail. Moons are special because they come in any size. Unless... they get really big and become stars. Thus the biggest moons are Brown Dwarfs, which are failed stars.
Earth's neighborhood just got a little bigger this year. It used to be just the two of us: the Earth and the Moon. But Earth also has a Trojan Moon and now an outer Moonlet. How wonderful!
So here is the revelation, it not only orbits the Earth but also our Moon. Thus our Moon also has a satellite, or rather 2016 HO3 is a moon of a moon! Sort of, it does not directly orbit the moon but in follows an orbit around our Earth-Moon system. Thus it does qualify as a type of a moon of our Moon, believe it or perhaps not!

The American Ethnic Flag, The Un-Hyphenated American Flag: Americans First Flag
Americans come in a variety of ethnic backgrounds and many people like to identify their American heritage as being of another nationality first, popular examples being Irish-American, German-American, Asian-American, or African-American. This leaves the door open for just plain Un-Hyphenated Americans.
Un-Hyphenated Americans cherish their ethnic/religious backgrounds but primarily identify as Americans first, and yet they can enjoy their histoical heritage with pride and parades. Since many American-hyphenated groups have flags, it makes sense to give Un-Hyphenated Americans a flag as well.
The official American flag should suffice, but the American Ethnic Flag distinguishes paramount identity to being American rather than some other nationality or a hyphenated-American.
The canton is a reflection of the legendary Betsy Ross Flag, the field of red indicates this person is a wholly red blooded American first. Additionally the red field is an honor point to Native Americans, whose traditions, religions, and cultures are acknowledged and respected with this flag.
Persons of this American-first identity put America first in business, culture, politics, values, and of course rooting for the USA above all other nations even if they are at odds for the other team who just happens to be of their particular heritage. The white lower square under the blue canton brings balance to the traditional American colors, and represents the power of Providence or synchronicity.
This is not a flag for white-Americans, black-Americans, yellow-Americans, brown-Americans, peach-Americans, tan-Americans, or any other type of American...but for All Americans who identify as Americans first.

Oh My Dayum - Five Guys Logo in Augmented Video 2012
The Five Guys burger logo is visible on the cup that is being sipped. This man, Daym Drops, has truly found a Cheeseburger in Paradise in the year 2012. Although he was just making a simple Youtube simple critic video about a tasty burger joint, it turned into wonderful hit song on the Internet.
Red Cross Logo in Michelle's Song "Not Today- The Building is on Fire" January 2016
