The Northen Israeli Alley Flag
The Northern Israeli Alley Flag is similar is design to the Southern Israeli Alley Flag. The main difference is that the colours are reversed. Like the other geographic flags presented in this blog, the purpose of these flags is to educate and build connections. Furthermore the foundation of Western Civilization is intimately tied to this hallowed and enchanted land.
All Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Baha'i, and Mormons recognize on an official level a divine activity and appearance of divine providence upon this land. Besides it's always neat to connect the geographic dots? Finally Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Baha'i and Mormons can recognize the miracle of Hanukkah. All branches already all believe in Adam and Eve, Noah, and nearly everything in the Original Testament.
The nations which happen to lay directly due north include: Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia. The only major city in Europe to lay due north in the rather narrow Northern Israeli Alley is Dnipropetrovsk in the Ukraine that was founded in 1776.
In addition, Cyprus crosses into the Northern Israeli Alley. And like Israel is polarized on a political-religious angle, but the delicate issue for Cyprus is between Christians and Muslims. One can suppose when Cyprus achieves balance in the region so to will Israel follow, or vice verse?

The Southern Israeli Alley Flag
Happy Black Frannukah?
Israel is in a sweet spot in between continents snuggled by Africa and Europe. Israel is the only Asian Country to touch Africa - lending the term Afracasian or maybe Asiafrican? Anyways here is another geographic flag centered on Israel. It is for lands directly due south of the nation that was the scene of intense spiritual development for humanity. Countries in the Southern Israeli Alley include: Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, and Mozambique.
The narrow longitude is from about 34 degrees 20' unto 35 degrees 40'.

The Western Israeli Belt Flag
Happy Thanxgivukagh?
Since there is an Eastern Israeli Belt Flag it only makes sense to have a Western Israeli Belt Flag. In this case the flag keeps the same design but the colours are reversed, also known as a counter change.
A flag to be flown on areas that are directly due west of Israel from about 29 Degrees North to 33 Degrees North. Consequently most of North Africa is in the Israeli Belt which includes: Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. No part of Europe's continent is parallel to Israel but the island of Madeira under Portugal and Bermuda under the United Kingdom is parallel to Israel. Thus much of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle lays in the enchanted latitude.
Finally the Israeli Belt crosses North America through Mexico and the United States - touching the states in the Deep South and one 'Northern State.' The US States that have part of their lands due west of Israel include: South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and just the southern tip of California. Last but not least Louisiana is the special case, because it is nearly parallel to Israel by north to south. Just for the record, Walt Disney World Orlando Florida is just south of the Israeli Belt, likewise Walt Disney Land Anaheim, California is just north of the Israeli Belt. Louisiana is a bit more humid, perhaps a better climatic match is Southern California or Northern Mexico.
Famous and major US cities in this special belt of latitude include: St. Augustine, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Diego.

The Eastern Israeli Belt Flag
Happy Hanukkah! And it happens to fall on Thanksgiving, which only happens on average once in a lifetime. So in honor of this rare union of grateful grace this is a nine part series that presents flags based upon the geography of modern Israel.
The Eastern Israeli Belt Flag is a geographic flag that marks the region due east of Israel. This flag is to be flown from about 29 Degrees North to about 33 Degrees North due east of Israel. The nations that fall into this latitude are: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Southern Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, China, South Korea, and Japan. Major cities that rest in the Eastern Wing of the Israeli Belt include Shanghai, Shiraz, Lahore, Basra, and Nagasaki.

Lunar Eclipse Flag
The Lunar Eclipse Flag features the moon with one slice of the Earth's shadow waning the moon. The colours black, blue, and white represent the night sky, shadow of the moon and moon itself.
Lunar eclipses are not as exciting as solar eclipses, nonetheless they have their own distinct charm.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - 1975
After more than one thousand years after the reign of King Aethelstan, a troop of modern story makers retold of the great chronicle of the Legendary King Arthur in stunning accuracy by the Monty Python guild of scorers and associated artists.
Many flags are shown in the semi-historical work of fiction. The emblem for King Arthur features a yellow sun in splendor with a mustache on a white background.
As King Arthur travels the English country side he gains the helpful assistance of other knoble knights throughout the kingdom. As Aurthur has his royal standard so to do the other brave knights of the semi-round table. Knote its knot really a round table, but a more accurate description would be a flat cylinder like object. Thusly a more proper descirption should be King Aurther and the Knights of the Cylindrical Table.
There are kbunch of kflags - one has checkery green klike pattern with some kkind of black kbird. Another for kthe knoble guy red kcross and then there is a black one that's kinda' kcool. I think there are a few others but they are khard to make kout.
In the final kbattle royal the original knights are joined by a mass of other knights to kdefeat the enemy. Knote the flag and kkemblem of Sir Lancelot is a funky white tree without its leaves on half of a kblue backgroud.

Flags in South Park's Army of X Box vs. Sony Playstaion Empire - 2013
Video game console wars are a modern era rivalry. The most lauded console war in mid 1980s was between Sega and Nintendo. Nintendo won. Currently X-box and Sony Playstaion are today's main rivals, while Nintendo has fallen a bit behind the times.
In the most recent episode of South Park's 17th Season the town kids have formed two factions - one is pro-X-Box One and the other is for Sony Playstation 4.
This episode combines the shopping madness of Black Friday with the often acerbic debate between gamers on the 'best' console. Most importantly to vexillology is the appearance of unique flags. The X-Box faction as led by Eric Cartman has an eight pointed star of black and white on an orange background. While Kenny's Playstation faction is led by a royal princess want that has a Fleur-Di-Li's design with three streamers of varying shades of pink.

Flags in Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie - 1996
Peanut gallery back seat comments during a movie in a public space are a no no. But when its an old movie, a favorite, or horribly bad movie making off the wall wacky doodle comments is a certain kind of art form - and it became refined and distinguished with the Mystery Science Theater 3000 team.
A man is trapped in space in the distant future and forced to watch cheesy sci-fi films by a mad scientist. Here we can see the mission badge of our hero - Mike Nelson. It says Wisconsin and has piece of cheese upon it.
Can you find the pennant in the clutter? It reads "SERVO RULES." The Mystery Science Theater 3000 makes it possible to enjoy really bad movies, ironically with silly comments. However this movie was a big booper as well. It should be watched in the company of alcohol or group of silly beans people.
The flag of the United States of America is just barely visible at the end of the wind shield.
Meteor Shower Alert Flag
A background of navy blue with five four pointed stars is the design that makes up a Meteor Shower Alert Flag. Meteor Showers are often like holidays that appear over and over again every year. But every once and a while we get some new shows.
The Meteor Shower Alert flag should fly at least five days before a meteor shower is about to take place.

Solar Eclipse Flag
The eclipse flag uses four colours: black, white, red, and light blue. The central disc is divided into two colours of mostly white and partially red. The white region represents the moon while the smaller red portion represents the sun. The black background represents the momentary moment of night during day when the moon aligns with the sun in the right way. Likewise the light blue portion represents the day that is being put on temporary hold.

Flags from Blue Collar Comedy Tour: 2003
The US flag makes several almost accidental appearances in the original cinematic classic Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie 2003. America was surely in the mood for some good ol' country laughs. More original an' natural than Hee Haw. Four southern gentleman were able to cook up some comedic home style chuckles that just tickled the side belly of Merica'.
Yes indeed, that is Jeff Foxworthy playing a part with some wacky doodle mullet hair-hat combo. It just so happens that Mr. Foxworthy is wearing an American Flag on the honor point of his ball cap.
Here Larry the Cable guys uses a Fart Machine bought from Spencer Gifts to lay one out on an innocent passerbyer who just happens to be a wearing t-shirt that has the American Flag on it. Oh yeah, nearly forgot...you can also see the Arizona State flag in the first pic.

Viva La Revolution Flag - Dragon Ash 1999
In 1999 the seeds from a smashed pumpkin were eaten by a dragon. The result was a smash hit song on the Japanese Pop charts back in the Summer of 99' - Grateful Days.
The album cover for this song was influenced by art that originated in 1830 - Liberty Leading the People. But instead of a French Tri-colour the flag has been replaced with a 'Dragon Ash' flag. The Dragon Ash Flag has a red background with a rectangular black cross centered in the middle that does not reach the borders. Within the black cross written in white calligraphy is Via La Revolution which is the name of the album. Additionally several members of the group take the place of Liberty's supporters.
The inside cover art also featured flags. In this case the members of the band were given a variety of flags, many of the designs had the fluer-di-lis upon it.
The most popular cut off this album was Grateful Days, as the title alludes too, it all about being grateful. Since this is my 5th year anniversary of blogging I have much to be grateful for. Thanks for reading! This song is dedicated to yous - the readers.

Flags and Vexilloids from Altered States 1980
Altered States is a 1980s flashback to the 1960s setup with a serious academic tone. It is a hard core science fiction diddy with speculative gleanings on the atypical states of consciousness.
Here the protagonist of the story is a talented Ivy League Professor exploring the more than mysterious aspects of the human mind. In the background is the University Pennant for Columbia University.
Dr. Jessup travels to Mexico where natives practice a sacred ceremony to connect with the 'original mind' before time. Notice upon the wall is a Yin and Yang symbol, which is a profound symbol within Taoism.
In front of Low Memorial Library is the famous statue of Alma Mater holding a vexilloid in her right hand. Alma Mater is quite the famous statue as it made an appearance in another altered vision of reality - the Ghost Busters in 1984.
Amazingly a Coke and Pepsi can appear in this film simultaneously, all by accident. Like Yin and Yang these two corporate entities have established themselves across the shopping scape of the world.
Today putting these two products together in the same Hollywood film is taboo and may cause lawyers to manifest out of thin air, but in 1980 subliminal product placement in cinema was in its infancy allowing such rare and exquisitely bizarre abominations to take place.

Flags from the Terminator - 1984
In 1984 a movie from the dream space of James Cameroon came to light - The Terminator 1984 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. A cybernetic organism dominated by a machine mind attempts to assassinate the ancestor of human resistance - John Connor. It is this unborn man in 1984 who eventually undermines the machine directive to enslave and or exterminate the human species.
Several flags appear in the film. The first vexilloid is a common city street banner. It has pink pile extending from the hoist making a swallow tail pattern along the fly. It is impossible to see what is written on the flag but it most likely deals with a city festival announcement or advertisement for a product or service.
The flag of Los Angeles also appears in the film during the police precinct scene. The city flag of Los Angeles is divided into three sections of red, yellow, and green with the city seal in the center.
Of course, the flag of the United States is also visible when Sarah is taken into police custody. The finial of the US flag clearly visible.

CBFA Meeting 2013 - Philadelphia
The Chesapeake Bay Flag Association met yesterday in Philadelphia, starting at Washington Square. The tour then stopped at the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The highlight of the tour was a private viewing of the Brandywine Flag on generous courtesy.
Afterwards we were given a private peek at the old Philadelphia US Marine museum where our host Keith Bassolino presented a charming collection of fine flags from his personal collection. Then we stopped Carpenter's Hall. Afterwards the group made an obligatory stop at the Betsy Ross House for a tour and group photo.
Across the street from the Betsy Ross house we were given a behind the scenes tour of the Humphry's Flag Shop.
Finally we dined on the hallowed grounds of the most enchanted of Colonial Era Restaurants - The City Tavern. At the Historic Tavern a splendid discussion on flags and other such collectables took prime portion of discussion, as to be expected. I was able give a short vexi-bit presenting my recently created Colonial Heritage City Flags that honor the nine cities that were at one time temporary capitals of the United States. Additionally I presented a collection of unique flags created for the memorable lines latitude of longitude.

The Bengali Badger Flag from Ice Age - Continental Drift 2012
More than 10,000 years ago the animals fight amongst themselves for survival, but a rag tag team made up of a carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores must learn to work together or perish.
This the running theme in the digitally animated series about animals that recently lived on Earth in the past during the - Ice Age.
In Ice Age: Continental Drift one of the 'bad guys' is a Bengali Badger with a strange pattern on its back that resembles a jolly roger. Subsequently he becomes a living flag for his wolf pack of bad guys.
You can see Gupta the Bengali Badger hanging on a stick, becoming a living virtual vexilloid. His merciless band of animal baddies are lead my a rather large and mean Gigantopithecus.
