Lunar Twilight 2019 Fading

What is lunar twilight?  Is it something like the Great Pumpkin?  No it is an extra hug and smile from yesteryear to say goodbye.  The bittersweet smile of hanging on to make peace and memorialize the past year.

It is a recognition of the astronomy that the first moon of January is from yesteryear, giving us clemency to savor the past.  As the moon is the 'rule of night' the transition to 2020 is extended an extra 23 days.  Whence the sun has set, there is kind of reversion, as the cusp of last year follows the moon of 2019.  Until that light give up its glow, upon the fist sliver, and echo of 2019 will stay with us for 23 days until January 25, 2020.  Then will the first moon born in 2020 mark the transition to 2020 by day and night.

It is a holiday for all, to recognize the celestial phenomena that connects heaven and Earth.  In this version of Cats you can just barely make out streamer pennants in the upper left hand corner.
